Good article. Depressing in parts. You missed out one major factor (religion) and only briefly touched on another (media).

So many people believe their own sky fairy will either save them from whatever the climate has in store, or go along with it because it's in their creator's crazy masterplan. If it was, you'd surely rebel against it? Anyway...

Media.. yes Fox 'News' and the likes have enormous influence on the great gullible, uneducated masses. The right wing media looks after the fossil fuel industries and will always believe in capitalism. So as long as they play down the crisis, millions won't engage.
