The fact that anyone is "newly woke" about racism is the problem. Why is it that so many people have not been aware that this has been going on? It's down to poor education systems, it's down to a biased media. The people who are supposed to be educationg both children and adults are not doing their jobs. And by the way, I hate the term 'woke' - it is a word used by intolerant people as an insult to those who actually give a damn.
